Administrative Assistant at Iowa Community College Athletic Conference

I'm currently an administrative assistant to the ICCAC, which hosts 15 athletic teams from Iowa and Nebraska. I've been fortunate enough to gain hands-on learning experience in the marketing office and the administration office.
My daily work consists of anything from proofing compliance agreements, creating social media statistic boards, preparing and hosting an event.
Communications Intern at ChildServe
May 2023 - August 2023
I spent my summer as a communications intern at ChildServe, in Johnston, Iowa. My favorite part of my internship was the fact that every day wasn't the same! One morning I would be taking pictures at a group home, and another morning I could be editing a newsletter to be sent out to families.
I was able to spend my summer growing my AP Style, communication skills and overall growing in a professional workplace.
High School Volleyball Coach at North Polk High School
May 2023 - Current
I'm currently a volleyball coach at North Polk High School in Alleman, Iowa. As of 2023, this is my fifth year of coaching experience, and every day I find myself learning more and loving coaching more.
While we're in-season, my days typically look like: making a practice plan for JV, coaching JV practice, and after JV practice assisting with varsity practice. On game days I'm coaching JV 1, JV 2 and varsity as well.
Some tasks that don't always stay the same are attending team camps in the off-season, watching film over conference matches, coordinating with the Booster Club and coordinating communication throughout the program.
Livestream Coordinator at Urbandale High School
September 2022 - Current
During the winter months, when high school volleyball season comes to a pause, you can typically find me at Urbandale High School, with live announcer Bill Seals. We work together on Jayhawks Live to allow fans to watch Urbandale Basketball from home.
I get to make sure the Hudl Camera and two audio sources are working while also providing graphics on the stream.
High School Volleyball Coach at Ballard High School
June 2022 - May 2023
I spent one season head coaching JV and assistant coaching varsity high school volleyball at Ballard High School. While at Ballard I learned the ins and outs of high school volleyball, and learn how to be comfortable on the coaching side of the court.
My weekly coaching duties consisted of: creating a JV 1 and JV 2 practice plan, head coaching JV 1 practice, head coaching a JV 2 practice, assisting with varsity practice, overseeing program-wide strength and conditioning, head coaching JV games and tournaments, assistant coaching varsity games and tournaments, inputting schedules and stats for varsity and assisting with communication.
Game Day Operations Intern at Iowa State University
March 2022 - December 2022
In my sophomore year of college, I was able to intern with Iowa State Athletics Department as a Game Day Operations intern. I specialized in football, softball and volleyball with other interns.
The behind-the-scenes of every event consists of days of planning and many people who get to the scene hours before game time.
I learned how every event works, the setup and tear down behind every event, how to address professionals and overall how to run professional athletic events at the collegiate level.
